Sherrington Grange Boutique Country Accommodation

YOUR HOSTS

Sherrington Grange is the family home of the Harper family. Entertaining is a family tradition and we enjoy receiving guests from around the globe. Julie and Lisa will take care of you, in the main farmhouse. You may also meet Rob and his wife Sabine or Hamish, his wife Annie and young children, as they all live nearby, on different parts of the farm property.

Julie, the head of the family, started life as a botanist and amateur musician, but became a farmer nearly thirty years ago. She has an interest in traditional skills and horticulture. Proficient in growing and preparing foodstuffs, Julie can, if requested, demonstrate the correct way to bone a shoulder of mutton, filet fish or shell oysters.

Lisa learnt the principles of cheese-making from her mother and grandmother and now creates cheese (and teaches visitors), using very traditional methods. She will be responsible for your dinner menus, often based around recipes handed down from her mother’s family, all of whom were skilled cooks.

Rob is the chief beekeeper in the family and produces tonnes of honey every year. (Don't worry, the honey shed is miles from your accommodation!) Hamish runs a small construction company, also named after the family farm 'Sherrington'.

Ben, the chocolate Labrador also lives at Sherrington and likes sleeping in front of the wood fire. All of the family look forward to welcoming you to their beautiful corner of the world.
